Malaysian carmaker Perodua exports its Traz model and Alza multi-purpose vehicle to Sri Lanka on July 28 to strengthen its presence in the market.

Perodua President Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad stated Sri Lanka remains a major export market, with over 20,000 units sold since 1997. He noted Perodua actively exports completely built-up models to six countries, including Brunei, Fiji, Mauritius, Bangladesh, and Papua New Guinea. The automaker also expanded its pre-owned vehicle market to Timor-Leste this year.

For the Sri Lankan launch, Perodua set special introductory pricing for the first 50 Traz customers, ranging from Rs. 19,200,000 to Rs. 19,950,000. The company priced the Perodua Alza at Rs. 19,950,000, with all prices including value-added tax.

United Motors Lanka PLC Chief Executive Officer Chanaka Yatawara reported selling nearly 3,000 vehicles since Sri Lanka lifted import restrictions in 2025. Perodua launched the Traz in December 2025, while the Alza recorded 19,504 Malaysian registrations between January and June 2026.
