Samsung Launches HDR10+ ADVANCED Format on Amazon Prime Video

Samsung Electronics announces global availability of HDR10+ ADVANCED on Amazon Prime Video starting August 2026, debuting exclusively on the company’s 2026 television lineup.

The next-generation standard introduced Enhanced Overall Brightness and Intelligent Motion Smoothing for supported movies and television shows. Enhanced Overall Brightness utilised extended statistical metadata and artificial intelligence tone mapping to optimise TV brightness capabilities.

Intelligent Motion Smoothing applied scene-by-scene metadata, allowing compatible displays to dynamically adjust motion processing during fast-moving content. Samsung stated the format empowered displays featuring larger screen sizes, higher peak brightness, and increased processing power.

Prime Video expanded its existing HDR10+ collaboration with Samsung, which originally debuted on 2017 Ultra High Definition models. Samsung planned to integrate HDR10+ ADVANCED support into future product lines as the ecosystem expanded.
