ASUS Republic of Gamers announces the 2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18 in Taipei on May 15, saying the laptop offers up to 320 watts of total system power.
The company said the laptop is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.
ASUS said the model features what it described as the world’s first 18-inch 4K 240Hz mini-LED laptop panel with ROG Nebula ELMB. The display includes more than 2,000 dimming zones, up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness in HDR, 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, and a VESA ClearMR 11000 rating.
The company said the cooling system includes an end-to-end vapour chamber, a sandwiched heatsink design, rear exhaust vents, and airflow through the keyboard deck. ASUS said the vapour chamber is 20% thicker than the previous generation and that the CPU and GPU fans drive 91% more airflow.
ASUS said the laptop includes tool-less access to SSD and RAM modules, ROG Q-Latch for SSD installation, dual Thunderbolt 5 ports, WiFi 7, a 2.5G LAN port, and an 18-inch display with 4K resolution.
The specifications listed Windows 11 Pro, up to 128GB DDR5 6400MHz memory, up to 8TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD storage in RAID 0, a 90Wh battery, a 450W adapter, dimensions of 39.9 x 29.8 x 2.35 to 3.5 cm, and a weight of 3.7 kg.
