LEGO Group, Warner Bros. Games, TT Games and DC announced in Billund, Denmark, on May 19, 2026, that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight entered early access.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was released in Deluxe Edition early access on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The Standard Edition was scheduled for worldwide release on May 22. TT Games developed the game, and Warner Bros. Games published it.
The game followed Bruce Wayne’s origins and his training with the League of Shadows. Players partnered with Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Opponents included The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, Firefly, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.
The game introduced a new combat system, an open-world Gotham City, and a Batcave hub beneath Wayne Manor. Gotham included four islands and locations, including Ace Chemicals, Gotham Botanical Gardens, Wayne Tower, and Arkham Asylum. The Batcave included 100 outfits for playable characters.
The game supported solo play and two-player local cooperative gameplay. It included Caped Crusader and Dark Knight difficulty settings. Batman used Batarangs and the Batclaw, while partner characters used equipment including Foam Sprayer, Birdarangs, Electrorangs, Hackarang, whip, and Blowdarts.
The Deluxe Edition was priced at $89.99 and included early access and Legacy Collection DLC. The Standard Edition was priced at $69.99 and included the Batsuit from The Dark Knight Returns for pre-orders. A Mayhem Collection DLC, due in September 2026, added Mayhem Mode, The Joker, Harley Quinn, a story mission, suits, Batcave items, and a Batmobile.
Players with a Warner Bros. Games account could unlock the Golden Age Batsuit. Four LEGO DC Batman sets also include redeemable in-game content. The Nintendo Switch 2 version was scheduled for release later in 2026.
