IHG Hotels & Resorts announced on 26 May 2026 in London the signing of Esperança Hotel, Vignette Collection in central Braga, Portugal.

The 58-key Esperança Hotel, Vignette Collection, was set to be developed by converting two existing buildings in Braga’s city centre and was due to open in September 2026.

The property was owned by Hotel Janes LDA, led by CEO Luciana Borges, and was to be managed by an independent hotel management company, Amazing Evolution.

IHG said the signing brought its total open and pipeline Vignette Collection portfolio in Portugal to six hotels, including properties in Lisbon, Porto and Cascais, and joined Onyria Marinha Cascais.

IHG stated that since Vignette Collection launched in 2021, the brand had surpassed the halfway point toward its target of reaching 100 hotels globally by 2030.

As of 31 March 2026, IHG reported more than 1 million rooms across 7,000 hotels in over 100 countries, with a development pipeline of 2,300 properties.
