Proton says it sold 16,995 vehicles in May 2026 in Malaysia, as industry volume falls and the Saga, e.MAS 7 PHEV and e.MAS models lead key segments.

Proton said year-to-date sales reached 84,294 vehicles in the first five months of 2026, up 38% from a year earlier. It estimated the market share at 26.7%.

The company said Malaysia’s total industry volume fell an estimated 15.4% in May from April and declined 1.4% in the first five months from a year earlier.

Proton said the Saga was Malaysia’s best-selling vehicle in May with 7,398 units sold. It said year-to-date Saga sales rose 41% to 37,375 units.

Proton said the e.MAS range delivered 3,022 units across domestic and export markets in May, bringing year-to-date sales to 14,687 units. It said the e.MAS 7 PHEV sold 1,181 units in May and the e.MAS 7 sold 958.
