NGV Triennial opens at NGV International in Melbourne on December 13, 2026, featuring nearly 100 artists from 35 countries across more than 80 projects.
The fourth edition runs through April 11, 2027, at NGV International on St Kilda Road. It includes 25 world-premiere commissions and more than 70 works entering the NGV Collection.
Featured artists include Jenny Holzer, Wolfgang Tillmans, Zanele Muholi, Sarah Sze, Shilpa Gupta, Christine Sun Kim, Mikåsa Rottenberg, Ocean Vuong and Farah Khan.
Farah Khan from Malaysia reimagines eight works from the NGV’s historical European paintings collection as wearable pieces displayed on mannequins. The exhibition also includes a new Tillmans installation, Muholi sculpture and Louise Paramor chess set.
NGV said the first Triennial in 2017 drew more than 1.23 million visitors, while the 2023 edition drew more than 1 million. Entry is free.
