Selangor retains its position as Malaysia’s most visited state after recording 36.4 million domestic visitors in 2025, according to the Department of Statistics’ Domestic Tourism Survey 2025.

The June 16 media release in Shah Alam said Selangor’s 2025 total rose 5.5% from 34.5 million domestic visitors in 2024. It said the state ranked ahead of Kuala Lumpur and Perak.

Tourism Selangor said Visit Selangor Year 2025, new tourism products and experiences, and 2025 tourism, cultural, sporting and entertainment events supported visitor arrivals.

The release said Tourism Selangor would mark its 25th anniversary in July. It said the agency planned to intensify promotions, expand collaborations and introduce new tourism experiences.
