Apple executive Eddy Cue is named 2026 Entertainment Person of the Year at the Cannes Lions festival in Cannes, France, on June 21, recognising his role in Apple’s entertainment services.
Apple said the Cannes Lions award honoured Cue, senior vice president of services and health, for his role in shaping its entertainment ecosystem, including Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple Books and other services.
During the ceremony, Cue accepted the award from Cannes Lions CEO Simon Cook and said Apple sought to be “the best,” positioning Apple TV as a home for leading storytellers.
Earlier that day, Cue and producer Jerry Bruckheimer held a keynote seminar discussing Apple’s partnership on titles such as the Academy Award-winning film “F1” and an upcoming UAP feature directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Apple said Apple TV has become one of the industry’s most award-winning streaming services, citing more than 840 award wins, over 3,600 nominations and critically rated series including “The Studio,” “Pluribus,” “Severance”, and “Ted Lasso.”
Apple added that Cue also oversees Apple’s expanding sports business, including its exclusive U.S. Formula 1 broadcast partnership and deals with Major League Soccer and Friday Night Baseball.
