Sony introduces the SEL100400 FE 100-400mm F5.6-8 OSS super-telephoto zoom lens for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras, expanding its lens lineup for hobbyist photographers in August 2026.

The 654-gram lens featured two Extra-low Dispersion glass elements and two aspherical elements to suppress chromatic aberration and distortion across the zoom range. It included built-in optical image stabilisation and supported camera body Active Mode stabilisation and breathing compensation.

The lens provided a minimum focusing distance of 0.86 meters at 400mm and a maximum magnification ratio of 0.41x. It incorporated linear motors for fast autofocus, and compatible teleconverters extended maximum focal reach to 1,200mm in APS-C mode.

Sony priced the lens at RM3,499 and is set to be available in Malaysia in mid-August 2026. Order before September 12 to get an additional RM200 rebate when purchased with any Sony Full-Frame camera
