Google has expanded its Ask Maps feature to over 160 countries and territories, including Malaysia, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and New Zealand, on August 8, 2026.
The update added agentic capabilities for multi-step tasks including food ordering, hotel searching, and event discovery. Food ordering operates through integrations with partners including Square, Toast, and Uber Eats.
Real-time updates now feature live transit boards, traffic disruption alerts, and location busyness metrics. Users can also submit conversational map updates and upload photos to edit business hours.
Food ordering, hotel search, and conversational editing features rolled out first in the United States.
