The Selangor State Government hosted the Selangor Tourism Awards 2026 at Sunway Resort Hotel, introducing 26 award categories to recognise tourism industry contributions on August 8, 2026.

Selangor Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari officiated the event. Approximately 1,000 industry players, government representatives, media, and foreign delegates attended.

The state recorded 36.4 million domestic visitors in 2025, reflecting a 5.5% annual increase. Selangor maintained its position as Malaysia’s most-visited state for five consecutive years.

Selangor generated a Gross Domestic Product of RM460.1 billion, representing 26.5% of Malaysia’s national economy.

Visit Selangor Year 2026 targets nine million tourist arrivals. Tourism Selangor is promoting the campaign through domestic and international promotional programs.
