IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with GCP Hospitality to convert 14 hotels totalling 1,063 rooms in Kyoto, Japan on August 24, 2026.

The agreement includes 12 Garner hotels, one Holiday Inn Express, and one unbranded property across Kyoto. All properties will undergo renovations and rebranding with phased openings scheduled over the next 12 months.

GCP Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Gaw Capital Group, will manage the 14-hotel portfolio. The deal marks the signing of IHG’s third Holiday Inn Express property in Japan.
