Ombak KLCC opened its four-day culture festival, Jiwa Merdeka, to mark Malaysia’s 69th independence anniversary with 69 community activations on August 28, 2026.

Developed by KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, the 420,000-square-foot lifestyle destination features seven levels connected to the MRT Persiaran KLCC Station. The event features evening musical performances by artists including Datuk Sheila Majid and Yuna. The venue will host anchor tenant Galeri PETRONAS in a dedicated 126,356-square-foot space ahead of its full launch next year.

Interactive installations replicate Kuala Lumpur cultural hubs, including Little India, Chinatown, and Kampung Baru. Additional activities include the Pesta Kopi Merdeka at the Rooftop Garden and Pasar Seloka on the Concourse Level. The celebration will extend into KLCC Park on August 30 for the Semarak Jiwa Merdeka di KLCC event.
