Swatch Opens Venice Exhibition During Biennale Arte

Swatch announced an exhibition, Flora Fantastica, at Venice’s Royal Gardens from May 6 to July 26.

Swatch stated the exhibition runs at Giardini Reali in San Marco, Venice. Swatch stated admission is free and opening hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 7 pm.

Swatch said the exhibition features works by five former artists-in-residence of the Swatch Art Peace Hotel. Swatch said the exhibition coincides with the 61st International Art Exhibition.

Swatch reported that the project is part of events marking the Swatch Art Peace Hotel’s 15-year anniversary. Swatch stated the residency opened in November 2011 in Shanghai.

Swatch reported that the residency has hosted more than 600 artists from 60 countries. Swatch said it provides space for painters, musicians, filmmakers, writers, and other artists.

Swatch listed Stefania Orrù of Italy among the featured artists. Swatch stated her 2024 works include Verde Celeste (Little Garden Before Huangpu River) and Giallo Luminoso (A Bright Scene at the French Concession).

Swatch listed Hammer Chen of China among the featured artists. Swatch stated her 2026 Peeling series uses photography on copper, paper, and fabric.

Swatch listed Mustafa Boğa of Turkey among the featured artists. Swatch stated that his 2026 Orange Tree series uses embroidery on textiles.

Swatch listed Elisa Insua of Argentina among the featured artists. Swatch stated her 2026 work, Ornamentalia Criminalis,is a sculpture.

Swatch listed Chun Hua Catherine Dong of China and Canada among the featured artists. Swatch stated that her 2023 work, Mulan, is a VR installation.
