Apple TV announces an eight-episode dating documentary series titled “The Last Person on Earth” featuring couples therapist Esther Perel pairing opposite partners in remote destinations.

In the series, Perel and a team of matchmakers and therapists match individuals who appear to be opposites. The couples then travel to romantic destinations to test their compatibility.

Boldprint Studios produced the series with executive producers Dan Gray, Lou Hutchinson, and Phil Harris. Josh Jacobs and Olly Lambert directed the series.

Perel stated that love craves closeness while desire is fueled by otherness. She added that stepping outside familiar boundaries allows love stories to flourish.
